Kyle Froehlich

Kyle Froehlich is a wonderful little boy who suffers from life threatening disabilities that have the ability to shorten and dramatically affect his quality of life, thought process, and mentality.

He has been diagnosed with a "functional" form of Autism. He is verbally challenged and struggles with communication. He has difficulty making his wants and needs known which also affects his ability to have social interaction. He limits his interactions with children and adults, he prefers to play alone or be away from people.. Has difficulties making and keeping friends, and difficulty with imaginative and parallel play.
Limited joint attention and limited use of facial expression, very poor body awareness, has high threshold for pain and doesn't notice when he should be in pain. No sense of danger, plays with knifes, turns oven burners on, runs into the street without looking or even being hesitant.
Kyle has significant behavioral issues. He doesn't understand or seem to comprehend timeouts, spankings, verbal warning/ cues etc.

Through extensive research we have found an organization that is dedicated to providing service dogs to young people with autism, The DOGWISH Foundation. Their dog will be specifically trained to connect with Kyle through a special bond related to his scent. This dog will be his friend, confidant, protector, stress reliever & alert system. We are hopeful that the dog will help interrupt his meltdowns or explosive behavior with his presence or a gentle nudge. He will be able to provide him calming deep pressure during sensory overload or stressful new situations. His anxiety being exposed to social situations will be curbed with the constant presence of his "best friend," one who doesn't judge him or expect him to be perfect. She will provide the service of confidant and sleeping companion, in a world that seems assaults his senses and sensibilities, while he is awake and asleep. Their service dog will help in his autistic recovery, mentally, socially, educationally, and in more ways than we can probably even imagine.

Your tax deductible contributions will help train a K9 for Kyle. These dogs can be trained as a Police, retrieval, Seizure Alert K9, Search Alert, and Psychiatric Assistance K9, and will be specifically trained for Kyle's specific needs.
