Gilly Valenzuela

"Gilly" Valenzuela is a young man on a mission, very intense and hard working, intelligent, and growing fast. However, stricken with Autism, "Gilly" needs our help, and we need your help.

He has been diagnosed with Autism.
He is greatly limited in his ability to interact with children and adults.
He has difficulty with imaginative and parallel play.
Limited joint attention and limited use of facial expression, very poor body awareness, has high threshold for pain and doesn't notice when he should be in pain.
No sense of danger.
Gilly has some significant behavioral issues. Because of the autism he just doesn't understand or comprehend timeouts, discipline, verbal warnings, cues etc.

Through extensive research we have found a organization that is dedicated to providing service dogs to young people with autism, The DOGWISH Foundation. They are training our dog to be specifically connected with Gilly through a special bond related to his scent. They are training our dog to be his friend, confidant, stress reliever & alert system. DOGWISH K9s are trained to work with meltdowns and explosive behavior

and are "brainwave" sensitive. He will be able to provide him a calming pressure during sensory overload or stressful new situations. His anxiety being exposed to social situations will be curbed with the constant presence of his "best friend," who will provide the service of confidant and sleeping companion, in a world that seems assaults his senses and sensibilities. As a trained and certified Service Assistance K9, Gilly's dog will help in his autistic journey mentally, emotionally, socially, educationally, and in more ways than we can probably even imagine. We need to come up with $10,000.00 which DOGWISH will match, to get Gilly's trained DOGWISH K9.

Your tax deductible contributions will help train a K9 for Gilly. DOGWISH K9s are trained as a Police, retrieval, Seizure Alert K9, Search Alert, and Psychiatric Assistance K9, and will be specifically selected and trained for Gilly's special needs.
